On March 31, 2011, Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI) acquired the shares of Hansen Industrial Transmissions NV (HIT).

On the first anniversary of the acquisition, HIT integrated with the Power Transmission & Controls group, which includes Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America and its subsidiaries.  Both the Sumitomo and Hansen organizations will continue to operate independently, while coordinating efforts to provide greater benefits to our customers.  The acquisition now allows both organizations to cooperatively offer each others’ products and services, bringing together two great organizations that complement each other in this competitive industry.

Effective June 1, 2012, we will begin our cross-selling strategy for the United States and Latin American markets.  Supported by two well respected global organizations, our goal is to provide our customers with the best product for their application at the most economical price.

In order to ensure maximization of our groups core strengths, both sales organizations will remain unchanged.  We will coordinate internally and will be able to answer any questions you may have.
