Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America Introduces its “Green” PackagingJune 8, 2015
The new packaging for the medium line products, CYCLO® 6000 in sizes 613 to 618, and BBB and HBB in sizes Z-C, features an enclosed cardboard box with an OSB board attached to the bottom. The units are shrink-wrapped to the OSB board to ensure it is protected from damage in transit. The cardboard box is now stackable, and it is equipped with forklift tine holes for easy mobility.
This new "green" package consists of recycled cardboard, which also makes the new packaging recyclable. It eliminates the need for environmentally unfriendly and costly wooden pallets. The packaging is branded with ‘Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America' of ‘Sumitomo Drive Technologies.'
Many customers will benefit from the new packaging due to its reduced shipping costs, better protection to the product while in transit, longer shelf life, and the ability to stack multiple boxes, optimizing warehouse space.
The new packaging will be implemented in all U.S. facilities of Virginia, Illinois, Kentucky, and California. It is export compliant and ready to ship worldwide, saving time and money. It will be effective July 1, 2015.
