Chesapeake, VA - Project management has become a hot topic within any industry today. This profession is evolving at a rapid pace, and customers seek suppliers who are PMP certified to manage their large project orders. It is becoming more and more recognized as a legitimate set of skills to be successful in business.
Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America (SMA) recognizes the need for our employees to become PMP Certified and able to better manage projects from inception to delivery. We are proud to announce that Paul Martin, our Chief Applications Engineer, became PMP certified as of December 11th.
Paul received his BS Degree in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1979. Paul has 30+ years of experience specializing in mining equipment and bulk material handling, focusing in product sales, Engineering applications, product development, project and contract management, equipment feasibility studies and mine planning. He has co-authored numerous papers relative to mining equipment and is “inventor” for US/Canadian Patents related to walking draglines.
Having PMP certified employees demonstrates Sumitomo’s ability to have the skills necessary to execute projects on time and within budget. Sumitomo plans to continue to increase our PMP certified managers and improve our project-related business.
